Our mission is to produce digital media that embodies local people and their communities, to a quality that can be delivered globally.
We started in a garage in Koutu, Rotorua with a couple of cameras, a couple of brothers, a couple of dollars and a dream to make our mark on the digital world.
ABOUT US
Our Director - Alex Miller is the brains behind LGP. During the 2020 Lockdowns, he inspired his whanau to take a leap with him into the digital world. His passion and knowledge for media, editing, story-telling and connecting people is what got the wheels turning. His 2 younger brothers - Michael and Luke were often subject to rigorous Hollywood-style direction from Alex.
Parents and Co-Directors - Mike & Moana, soon saw the opportunity to spend time with their whanau and connecting with their community and quickly jumped all-in to kickstart Local Gecko Productions. It started with a couple of humorous backyard videos, then to going live on Facebook at their beloved Waikite Rugby Club games and now to a fully fledged Production Company capable of streaming to Live-TV quality anywhere around the country.
They say it takes a small village to raise a child and if LGP is the child, then it certainly has taken the village. One of the biggest reasons for our continued growth and success, has been our friends, whanau, community contacts and people who have trusted us with their events along the way. We love to support community events and help to build and grow our local people.
